An American family's weekend getaway at a remote farmhouse becomes a nightmare as their hosts' unsettling behavior escalates.
The story
While vacationing in Italy, an American couple, Ben and Louise Dalton, and their daughter Agnes meet and befriend a British couple, Paddy and Ciara, and their non-verbal son, Ant. Upon returning home, the Daltons accept an invitation from Paddy and Ciara to stay at their remote farmhouse in Devon for the weekend. However, as the stay progresses, the Daltons become increasingly unnerved by the hosts' strange behavior and aggressive treatment of Ant. The situation escalates when the hosts' actions begin to cross social boundaries, forcing the American family to question the safety of their situation in the isolated rural setting.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After meeting a British couple in Italy, the Daltons travel to a remote farmhouse in Devon. They soon notice the hosts, Paddy and Ciara, exhibit disturbing behavior and mistreat their son, Ant. After a series of unsettling incidents, the Daltons discover a stash of belongings and a photo album revealing Paddy and Ciara are serial killers who mutilate children. When the Daltons attempt to flee, they are captured by the couple and an accomplice, Mike. During a violent struggle, Louise manages to injure Paddy and kill Mike, allowing the family to escape to the roof. After a confrontation where Ciara is killed by falling from the roof, the Daltons manage to escape. In the final moments, Agnes uses a syringe of ketamine to incapacitate Paddy, and Ant bludgeons him to death with a brick before the family finally escapes the farmhouse.
