MI6 agent James Bond must navigate a global conspiracy involving a secret organization and a high-stakes power struggle within his own agency.

The story

After receiving a cryptic message from the previous M, agent James Bond travels to Mexico City to foil a terrorist bombing at the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. During the mission, Bond recovers a mysterious ring and uncovers a connection to a secret organization. Back in London, Bond finds himself at odds with the current M, who is embroiled in a power struggle with the Director-General of a new, privately backed intelligence service. Forced to go rogue, Bond must navigate a web of international intrigue and hidden alliances to uncover the truth behind the organization and the threat it poses to global security.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following a mission in Mexico City where he recovers a ring linked to a secret organization, James Bond is reprimanded by the current M, Gareth Mallory. Bond is caught in the middle of a power struggle between Mallory and Max Denbigh, the head of a new Joint Intelligence Service. Bond goes rogue, seeking out the truth about the organization, which he eventually learns is named Spectre. He teams up with Madeleine Swann, the daughter of a dying former associate, to infiltrate a Spectre base in the Sahara. There, he faces the mastermind Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who reveals a personal vendetta against Bond. After a violent confrontation and the destruction of the base, Bond and Madeleine flee to London. While the remaining MI6 agents attempt to stop the 'Nine Eyes' surveillance program from going online, Bond and Madeleine are captured by Spectre. In a final confrontation at a derelict MI6 building, Bond rescues Madeleine as the structure collapses. The film ends with Bond and Madeleine escaping together as Blofeld is apprehended by M.
