Peter Parker must navigate a growing list of enemies and a corrupting alien symbiote while trying to secure his future with Mary Jane.
The story
Set a year after the events of Spider-Man 2, the film follows Peter Parker as he prepares for his future with his girlfriend Mary Jane Watson. However, his life becomes complicated as he faces a variety of threats, including the Sandman, the villainous Venom, and his vengeful friend Harry Osborn. As Peter attempts to balance his personal life with his responsibilities as a masked vigilante, he must contend with the growing influence of an extraterrestrial symbiote that attaches to his suit, heightening his powers but also exposing his darker side.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Peter Parker plans to propose to Mary Jane Watson, but during a date in Central Park, an extraterrestrial symbiote attaches to his moped. Simultaneously, Harry Osborn seeks to avenge his father's death using Green Goblin technology, and Flint Marko becomes the Sandman after being fused with sand in a particle accelerator. The symbiote eventually integrates into Peter's suit, turning it black and amplifying his powers while fueling his aggression. This leads to a series of conflicts: Peter battles the Sandman in a subway, and his erratic behavior alienates Mary Jane. He also faces the threat of Eddie Brock, who becomes the host for the symbiote and transforms into Venom. After a series of confrontations where allies are endangered and secrets are revealed, Peter manages to separate the symbiote from himself and Brock. The film concludes with Peter reconciling with Harry before Harry's death and sharing a final dance with Mary Jane.
