Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following the 2012 Battle of New York, Adrian Toomes and his company are forced out of business by the Department of Damage Control. Toomes begins using scavenged Chitauri technology to create weapons and a Vulture suit. Eight years later, Peter Parker, a teenager and hero, is told by Tony Stark that he is not ready to be a full-time Avenger. Peter tries to balance school and crime-fighting, and his friend Ned discovers his secret. Peter encounters Toomes's associates and is warned by Stark to stay away from them. However, a series of events leads Peter to intervene in a high-stakes situation involving a stolen Chitauri grenade, where he saves his classmates but is punished by Stark for his recklessness. During a homecoming dance, Peter discovers that Toomes is the father of his crush, Liz. When Toomes plans to hijack a DODC plane, Peter dons a homemade suit to stop him. After a final confrontation where Peter saves Toomes's life, Toomes is arrested, and Peter chooses to remain a local hero rather than join the Avengers full-time.
