A rebellious school for girls must pull off a daring heist to save themselves from foreclosure.
The story
Annabelle Fritton is unwillingly transferred from a distinguished college to St Trinian's, an anarchic school for uncontrollable girls run by the eccentric headmistress Camilla Fritton. Upon arrival, Annabelle is introduced to the school's various cliques and faces immediate harassment from her peers. Meanwhile, the school is embroiled in an illegal vodka-making business with a local spiv. When the school receives a foreclosure notice for a debt of over £500,000, the students and staff must devise a desperate plan to save the institution from being turned into a boutique hotel.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Annabelle Fritton is sent to St Trinian's by her father, Carnaby, where she is bullied and pranked by the girls. She eventually joins the hockey team and begins to fit in. The school is in financial trouble, owing over £500,000, and faces foreclosure. To save the school, Kelly (the Head Girl) and Flash (a spiv) organize a plan to enter a TV quiz show, 'School Challenge,' as a cover to steal Vermeer's 'Girl With a Pearl Earring' from the National Gallery. The 'Posh Totty' clique cheats their way to the final. During the final, Camilla inebriates the Education Minister, and the girls successfully steal the painting. Camilla then paints a copy and has Flash sell it to Carnaby in a black market deal. The school receives a reward for returning the real painting, allowing them to repay their loans and remain open.
