Full plot (contains spoilers)
Every morning, Hamburg radio host Monika Krauss gives her listeners useful advice about love and relationships. Her own private life, however, looks bleak, because she is still searching for Mr. Perfect. Pressured by her gay brother René, who met his handsome but somewhat dim-witted boyfriend Karl through a personal ad, and by her mother, she finally places an ad herself. The seemingly perfect man does respond: Erik, a dentist. After Monika befriends Sabine, a mother of two, at the gym, Sabine invites her over for dinner, where Monika discovers that Erik is Sabine’s husband. Shocked, she immediately ends her relationship with Erik, but he manages to change her mind. Sabine already suspects that there is a mistress. When she finds an earring, she packs her bags and moves in with Monika and her two children. After a few complications, the friends give Erik the boot and move in together with René and Karl.
