The story
Set in the 'lost era' of the Star Trek franchise, the film follows Philippa Georgiou, a woman who has traveled from the Mirror Universe to the Prime Universe. Now a member of Starfleet, she joins Section 31, a clandestine division tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets. While operating on the space station Baraam, Georgiou and her team of diverse specialists must navigate the complexities of their secret mission. The situation becomes dire when they encounter a dangerous weapon known as the 'Godsend,' a device of devastating power that links back to Georgiou's own past in the Mirror Universe, forcing her to confront the consequences of her previous life.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In the Mirror Universe, a young Philippa Georgiou rises to power by betraying her family and enslaving her companion, San. In the Prime Universe, she lives as a member of Starfleet. The film begins with a Section 31 team, including Alok, Quasi, Zeph, Rachel Garrett, Fuzz, and Melle, intercepting the 'Godsend' weapon on the station Baraam. They discover the weapon was stolen from the Mirror Universe by Dada Noe. During a confrontation, the team is betrayed by a mole, and several members are endangered. Georgiou realizes the weapon is one she originally commissioned in her past life. After a series of skirmishes and the revelation that San is still alive and seeks to establish his own empire, the team confronts him. During the battle, the Godsend is activated. In a final act of sacrifice, Alok and Georgiou fly San's ship through a wormhole, directing the Godsend back into the Mirror Universe while the other team members escape. Three weeks later, the survivors are joined by Fuzz's wife, Wisp, and receive their next mission.
