In 1984, Steve Jobs faces a crisis when the Macintosh 128K's voice demo fails before its unveiling, leading him to demand a fix from engineer Andy Hertzfeld. During this period, he navigates a public paternity dispute with Chrisann Brennan and forms a bond with his daughter, Lisa. By 1988, after being ousted from Apple, Jobs founds NeXT and faces skepticism from Steve Wozniak regarding the company's future. He also faces pressure from CEO John Sculley regarding his tenure. By 1998, after Apple acquires NeXT and reinstates Jobs as CEO, he prepares to launch the iMac. Amidst the preparations, he deals with personal tensions regarding Lisa's living situation. In the final act, he reconciles with Sculley and eventually offers a heartfelt apology to Lisa, acknowledging his flaws and his love for her, before taking the stage to introduce the iMac.
