A secret government agency recruits a team of supervillains to perform dangerous missions in exchange for reduced sentences.
The story
In the aftermath of Superman's death, intelligence officer Amanda Waller convinces the U.S. government to greenlight Task Force X, a response team of criminals and supervillains. The team will be used to combat metahuman threats, under Waller's control via nanite bombs implanted in each criminal's neck, which can be remotely detonated if they try to rebel or escape. If successful, they will have their sentences shortened. The team is assembled to confront a powerful threat and a dangerous entity known as Enchantress, who has been transformed into a host of a powerful sorceress.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following Superman's death, Amanda Waller forms Task Force X, a group of supervillains and criminals equipped with explosive nanite bombs to ensure their cooperation. The team, including Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, El Diablo, Killer Croc, and Slipknot, is led by Rick Flag and Katana. They are deployed to Midway City to stop the Enchantress, a sorceress who has conquered the city and summoned her brother, Incubus. During the mission, the team faces internal conflicts and external threats, including an attack by the Joker. After several members are lost or compromised, the team eventually confronts the Enchantress and Incubus. They successfully defeat the villains, and Waller grants the survivors reduced sentences. In a post-credits scene, Waller meets Bruce Wayne to discuss the growing metahuman threat and the formation of a new team.
