Their situation becomes complicated when they are called to investigate an abandoned Winnebago where they discover the body of a murdered woman. This discovery leads to a tense confrontation with the local police department, who are eager to claim the investigation to secure more funding. Full plot (contains spoilers)
In Spurbury, Vermont, four state troopers—Thorny, Rabbit, Mac, and Carl—are struggling to keep their station open due to low productivity. They are known for playing pranks rather than enforcing the law. When they discover a murdered woman in an abandoned Winnebago, they clash with the local police, led by Chief Bruce Grady, who wants to shut the troopers' station down. After finding a marijuana shipment with a specific monkey logo, the troopers begin to suspect a link between the murder and the drugs. Amidst internal tensions and a betrayal by a local officer, the troopers eventually discover that the local police are protecting a drug-running operation. After a series of brawls and a final confrontation at an airfield, the troopers successfully arrest the smugglers. However, the governor still shuts down their station. Three months later, it is revealed that the troopers have been replaced by new Spurbury officers who have taken over their roles.
