A jaded survivor of the destroyed planet Krypton must navigate a perilous journey across the galaxy to save her pet dog from a ruthless band of pirates.
The story
Following the destruction of her home planet, Krypton, Kara Zor-El is sent to Earth where she eventually adopts the moniker 'Supergirl'. While attempting to adjust to her new life, she travels across the galaxy with her super-powered dog, Krypto. During a celebration of her 23rd birthday, she encounters a young girl named Ruthye who is seeking vengeance against a ruthless bandit group known as the Brigands. When the leader of these bandits, Krem, captures Ruthye and harms Krypto, Kara must embark on a desperate quest across multiple worlds to find a cure and confront the threat.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After the destruction of Krypton, Kara Zor-El and her dog Krypto are sent to Earth, where Kara eventually becomes the hero Supergirl. During her 23rd birthday, she encounters Ruthye Marye Knoll, who is seeking revenge against Krem of the Yellow Hills and his group, the Brigands. After Krem harms Krypto with a poisonous dart, Kara pursues him across several planets. Along the way, she encounters the bounty hunter Lobo and faces various obstacles, including a planet where she is weakened by a green sun. After a series of skirmishes, Kara eventually confronts the Brigands on the planet Barenton. In a final confrontation, she prevents Ruthye from killing Krem, but later takes the life of the villain herself to ensure his defeat. She successfully retrieves the antidote for Krypto and eventually reunites with her cousin, Superman, on Earth, declaring it her true home.
