The story
Jack and Jennifer, a wealthy couple, are yachting in the Caribbean during Christmas with a crew that includes the handsome Manuel. After a series of mishaps and a literal spark of conflict, a fire breaks out on the yacht, forcing the crew to abandon ship. A subsequent storm capsizes their lifeboats, leaving the survivors separated and stranded on a deserted island. Among the survivors are Jack, Jennifer, and Manuel. As they struggle to survive in the wilderness, the physical proximity and the harsh environment begin to strain their existing relationships and create a volatile dynamic of survival and burgeoning desire.

After a yacht fire and a storm, Jack, Jennifer, and Manuel are the only survivors on a deserted island. While Jack initially appreciates Manuel's help, he quickly becomes paranoid about Manuel's feelings for his wife. The tension peaks when Manuel rapes Jennifer as revenge against Jack, leading to a complicated dynamic where Jennifer feels conflicted. Jack attempts to sabotage Manuel, while the pair tries to steal a boat to escape. Jack's plan backfires, and he eventually captures them, leading to a violent confrontation where Manuel is killed by a spear. A year later, Jennifer is rescued by a passing yacht. She leaves Jack behind on the island, who is left alone, his fate unknown.
