A Pookoo and a Javan are accidentally transformed into each other's species and must navigate life in swapped bodies to survive.

The story

In a flooded valley inhabited by animal-plant hybrids, a curious Pookoo named Ollie ignores warnings to explore the world beyond his home. During a period of scarcity, Ollie attempts to secure food for his people but ends up falling into a hole and landing on a magical pod. This accident transforms him into a Javan. He is soon rescued by a Javan named Ivy, who has also been forced into a desperate situation. The two must navigate the dangers of the valley together, navigating the challenges of inhabiting each other's forms while trying to survive the harsh environment and the threats posed by the surrounding creatures.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The story begins in a flooded valley where Pookoo and Javan species live in isolation following a historical catastrophe caused by a Treewolf who became the Firewolf. Ollie, a curious Pookoo, and Ivy, a Javan, are transformed into each other's species after falling onto a magical pod. They embark on a journey to find more pods, eventually discovering that the Firewolf—who is currently disguised as a fish named Boogle—is the one who caused the original division of the land. After the Firewolf injures Ivy and destroys the pods, Ollie manages to save her and convince his people to trust the other species. In a final confrontation, Ollie uses a pod from a dead Dzo to transform into a Dzo, battling and defeating the Firewolf. He destroys the dam and is eventually returned to his original Pookoo form by the Dzo, leading to a new era of peace where all species, including the Dzo, live together in harmony.
