A princess with magical hair seeks to escape her secluded tower and see the world.

The story

Rapunzel is a princess with magical long blonde hair who has been hidden in a secluded tower for years by Mother Gothel. To see the mysterious floating lanterns and the world beyond, she strikes a deal with an intruder, the outlaw Flynn Rider. Together, they embark on a journey to reach the kingdom of Corona. Rapunzel must navigate the dangers of the outside world while Flynn tries to navigate his own predicament of being a wanted man, all while they strive to reach the lanterns before her captor realizes she is gone.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Rapunzel's hair contains the magic of a sun-flower, which Mother Gothel uses to maintain her youth. Rapunzel is kept in a tower, unaware of her royal identity. When Flynn Rider steals a tiara and takes refuge in her tower, Rapunzel strikes a deal with him to see the floating lanterns. They escape into the world, where they face various obstacles and eventually reach the kingdom of Corona. During a festival, they share a moment of connection, but are separated when Gothel intervenes. Rapunzel eventually realizes she is the 'lost princess' and confronts Gothel. In the final confrontation, Flynn is injured by Gothel. Rapunzel chooses to cut her hair, destroying its magic and causing Gothel to age rapidly and fall from the tower. A tear from Rapunzel revives Flynn, and they return to the kingdom to be reunited with the King and Queen.
