Four mutant turtles seek acceptance in the human world while facing a criminal mutant gang.

The story

The story follows four anthropomorphic mutant turtles who live in the sewers of New York City. While they long to live with and like humans their age, their mentor, Splinter, keeps them hidden to protect them. After a series of events leads them to encounter a girl named April O'Neil, the Turtles decide to reveal themselves and their origins. They aim to stop a criminal known as 'Superfly' and, through April's reporting, win public acceptance as heroes. However, they soon discover that Superfly is leading a gang of other mutants who have their own plans for the world.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following a mutation caused by a rogue scientist's discarded mutagen, four turtles and a rat named Splinter live in the sewers of New York City. They are eventually forced into the public eye after a confrontation with a criminal named Superfly. They discover Superfly is leading a mutant gang that intends to use stolen technology to make mutants dominant over humans. After a failed attempt to stop them leads to the Turtles' capture, Splinter and the turtles convince the other mutants to turn against Superfly. This causes a massive explosion, turning Superfly into a kaiju-sized monster. While the public initially fears them, April O'Neil uses her media reach to explain the mutants' intentions. The heroes successfully defeat the monster and are celebrated by the city. The film ends with the Turtles enrolling in April's high school, while a mysterious threat, the Shredder, is teased for the future.
