A hard-drinking riverboat captain who has recently divorced, Jean fears losing his job and custody of his children. Dashing in his captain’s uniform, Jean is in his fifties and freshly divorced, yet his life is in a dizzying free fall. Florence, his ex, threatens to have their shared custody arrangement taken away. Fed up with his drunkenness, his boss refuses to give him a salary advance. Even his children complain: they’re tired of having to give up their room for Airbnb guests. Only his colleague Judith, who is a little in love with him, helps keep his spirits up. One day, Jean is evicted from his apartment. He takes refuge with his children in the home of his goddaughter, who has left to travel around the world. There, he comes across Victor, a young musician in a tight spot...
