Full plot (contains spoilers)
The Greek Stelios has made his dream come true by opening a jazz club in Athens. Over an extended period, he and his business partner Vassos borrow a total of 148,237 euros to further develop and expand the nightclub. In 2010, the Greek economy almost completely collapses as a result of the 2007 financial crisis, leaving the club unable to generate enough profit even to begin repaying the loans. The loan shark, who is known only as “the Romanian,” threatens Stelios with the revenge of the Romanian mafia if he does not pay back the sum. He gives Stelios 32 hours, until Wednesday at 4:45 a.m., to come up with the money he needs. Stelios has to race against time to get the money, facing a whirlpool of fraud, drugs, and violence whose full extent is only now becoming clear to him.
