Full plot (contains spoilers)
Born in 1908, Adaline Marie Bowman's life changed forever in 1932 after a lightning strike during a car accident stopped her aging process. For decades, she lived in hiding, changing her identity every ten years and watching her daughter, Flemming, grow old while she remained youthful. In 2015, she meets Ellis Jones and attends a party with his family. His father, William, recognizes her from a romance they shared decades prior. After a tense confrontation where she admits her secret, she initially leaves him. However, following a near-fatal accident involving a truck, she is revived by a defibrillator. The shock restarts her aging process. A year later, she discovers a grey hair and realizes she can finally grow old naturally with Ellis.
