The story
Quiet teenager Marc Hall transfers to Indian Hills High School in Agoura Hills, California, where he befriends fame-obsessed Rebecca Ahn. While at a party, Rebecca persuades Marc to sneak away and steal valuables from unlocked vehicles on the streets. As they begin hanging out regularly, Marc starts to view Rebecca as a sister figure. One day, when Marc mentions a wealthy acquaintance vacationing in Jamaica, Rebecca convinces him to join her in breaking into the empty house to steal money and luxury items. They go on a shopping spree, and the group eventually expands as they begin targeting the homes of various celebrities.

Marc Hall, a quiet teenager, meets the fame-obsessed Rebecca Ahn in Agoura Hills, California. After starting with street thefts, they begin burglarizing the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, and Megan Fox. The group grows to include Chloe Tainer, Nicki Moore, and Sam Moore. They steal luxury goods, jewelry, and cash, often using the internet to plan their crimes. During one robbery, Chloe is arrested after a driving accident. The group continues their spree, eventually robbing Lindsay Lohan's house. Media attention intensifies as the public labels them "The Bling Ring." Authorities eventually identify the group through security footage and social media posts. Marc, feeling remorseful, cooperates with the police and identifies Rebecca as the ringleader. The group is prosecuted and receives varying jail times and restitution orders. Marc is sent to prison, while Nicki later appears on a talk show to promote her website. Sam avoids suspicion as she was not caught on camera.
