The story
Following the events of The Bourne Supremacy, Jason Bourne continues his search for information regarding his past and the mysterious programs he was involved in. While being pursued by the Blackbriar program, he encounters a journalist who has been investigating the truth behind the clandestine operations. As the stakes escalate, Bourne must navigate a series of dangerous encounters and high-stakes pursuits to uncover the truth about his identity and the organizations that manipulated his life.

After evading the Moscow police, Jason Bourne deals with flashbacks of his recruitment into Operation Treadstone. In the present, journalist Simon Ross discovers the existence of Operation Blackbriar, the successor to Treadstone. During a meeting at London Waterloo, Bourne helps Ross evade capture, but Ross is killed by a Blackbriar assassin. Bourne then tracks down a contact in Madrid, where he meets Nicky Parsons, a former operative. He eventually reaches New York City to confront the leadership of Blackbriar. During a tense confrontation, Bourne reveals his true identity—David Webb—to a CIA official before infiltrating a secure facility. He eventually confronts Dr. Albert Hirsch, who reveals that Bourne actually volunteered for the program. In the final moments, after a chase and a confrontation with an assassin, Bourne is shot and falls into the East River, where he is later seen surviving and swimming into the darkness.
