The story
Following the events of the first film, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren are summoned to England to assist the Hodgson family. The family is experiencing intense poltergeist activity at their home in the London borough of Enfield in 1977. The Warrens must determine if the activity is a hoax or a genuine demonic possession. As the investigation unfolds, Lorraine experiences a disturbing vision of a demonic nun, and the couple must confront the reality of the haunting while trying to protect the family from the escalating supernatural forces.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 1976, Ed and Lorraine Warren investigate the Amityville murders, where Lorraine sees a vision of a demonic nun. One year later, the Hodgson family in Enfield experiences strange occurrences after Janet plays with a ouija board. Janet becomes possessed by the spirit of Bill Wilkins, but the Warrens discover he is merely a pawn for a demon named Valak. While the Warrens are initially unsure of the truth, they eventually realize the nun is seeking to break Janet's will. During a confrontation at the residence, Lorraine identifies the demon by its name, Valak, and successfully sends it back to Hell. After the ordeal, the Warrens add a haunted 'Crooked Man' zoetrope to their collection of artifacts.
