Full plot (contains spoilers)
Eric, an addict in a rehabilitation center, meets Shelly, a musician who is being hunted by the crime lord Vincent Roeg. Roeg, who made a pact with the Devil for eternal life, seeks to control others. After Shelly and Eric are murdered by Roeg's men, Eric is resurrected in a purgatory-like realm by a spirit guide named Kronos. He is granted the ability to heal from injuries but must kill Roeg to be reunited with Shelly. Eric navigates a series of deadly encounters, eventually making a deal with Kronos to trade his place in Hell for another chance to defeat Roeg. After a final, violent confrontation at an opera house and Roeg's estate, Eric defeats Roeg and saves Shelly's soul.
