A symbologist and a cryptologist must race against a secret cabal to uncover the truth behind the Holy Grail.

The story

After the murder of a museum curator in Paris, symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to investigate a mysterious code left at the scene. Alongside Sophie Neveu, a cryptologist and the curator's granddaughter, Langdon discovers a trail of clues hidden within the works of Leonardo da Vinci. As they navigate the labyrinthine secrets of the Louvre and the surrounding city, they find themselves pursued by a mysterious organization and a shadowy figure. The pair must decipher a series of complex riddles to uncover the location of the Holy Grail, while navigating a conspiracy that threatens to expose a profound secret about the history of the Church.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following the murder of curator Jacques Saunière, who was killed by the albino monk Silas, Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu find a cryptex containing a message on papyrus. They join forces with Sir Leigh Teabing, who reveals that the Holy Grail is actually Mary Magdalene. The group travels to London and later to Scotland, where they discover that Saunière was a grand master of the Priory of Sion. After a series of betrayals and narrow escapes from Opus Dei members, they reach the Rosslyn Chapel. Langdon realizes Sophie is the last descendant of Christ. Finally, Langdon returns to the Louvre, where he discovers the Grail's true location beneath the Pyramide Inversée, finding Mary Magdalene's sarcophagus.
