A hardened San Francisco detective must confront a serial killer who is manipulating a deadly game of predicting celebrity deaths.

The story

After the incarceration of criminal kingpin Lou Janero, Inspector Harry Callahan becomes a target for Janero's men and the media. While investigating the suspicious death of rock singer Johnny Squares, Callahan and his new partner, Al Quan, discover a 'dead pool' game where participants predict celebrity deaths in the San Francisco Bay Area. The investigation takes a dark turn when a movie critic on the list is murdered, making a music video director a prime suspect. Callahan is forced to navigate a web of threats, media exploitation, and a series of escalating murders as he tries to identify the true killer.
