An aged, haunted outlaw seeks refuge in a priory after being wounded, only to find his past and present colliding in a desperate struggle for peace.
The story
In 1247 England, an aged and weary Robin Hood lives in self-imposed exile, haunted by the violence of his past as a legendary outlaw. He dismisses the heroic myths surrounding him, preferring the solitude of the wilderness. After being wounded, he seeks refuge in a priory where he is cared for by a prioress and encounters a young girl. As he recovers, he must navigate the complexities of his identity and the looming threat of those seeking vengeance for his past actions, all while trying to find a way to live—or die—with peace.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
In 1247 England, a young woman named Wainwright seeks to kill the aged Robin Hood to avenge her kin. She is killed by Robin, who buries her among other victims. His friend Little John, living under the name Edward, seeks Robin's help to reclaim his farm. During a raid, they rescue John's daughter but lose his wife. Robin is gravely wounded and left at the Priory of St. Clement. There, he is nursed by Sister Brigid and meets a leper who is revealed to be his former enemy, Guy of Gisbourne. The leper warns him that Brigid's family were also his victims. Robin eventually finds a young girl, Margaret, and takes her under his wing. He later confronts a man named Arthur, who is revealed to be Godwyn of the family he destroyed. After convincing Godwyn to abandon his quest for revenge, Robin confesses his identity to Brigid. Knowing she cannot forgive him, he convinces her to help him die through bloodletting. He tells Margaret a sanitized version of their history before dying as she fires an arrow.
