They travel to the site, where their protest goes viral after a confrontation with a private militia. The situation turns dire when a nearby native tribe discovers them, leading to a desperate struggle for survival in the heart of the rainforest.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Justine, a college freshman, joins an activist group led by Alejandro to protest a petrochemical company in the Amazon. After their plane crashes in the jungle, the survivors are captured by a cannibalistic tribe. Alejandro reveals the protest was a sham to benefit his own family's interests. The tribe subjects the captives to various rituals; Justine is taken for a mutilation ceremony and later returns with no memory of the event. Amy, a vegan, realizes she was fed human flesh and commits suicide. Lars attempts to drug the tribe with marijuana, leading to his death. Justine and Daniel eventually escape but are recaptured. During a final confrontation between the tribe and the company's militia, Justine escapes and is rescued by the militia. She later lies to her father, claiming the natives were friendly and were killed by the company. A post-credits scene reveals Alejandro is still alive in the jungle.
