A sports shop owner enters a rushed marriage and discovers his wife is a nightmare during their honeymoon in Mexico.

The story

Eddie Cantrow, a single sports shop owner in San Francisco, attends his former fiancée's wedding and finds himself on the 'singles table.' After a chance encounter with a woman named Lila, they begin dating. However, when Lila reveals she needs to move abroad for work, Eddie's father and best friend pressure him into a hasty marriage. The couple heads to Los Cabos, Mexico, for their honeymoon. Almost immediately, Eddie begins to realize that Lila's habits and personality are far from what he expected, leading to a series of comedic and disastrous complications as they navigate their new life together.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Eddie Cantrow, a San Francisco sports shop owner, marries Lila after only two months of dating due to pressure from his father and best friend. During their honeymoon in Los Cabos, Mexico, Eddie discovers Lila is aggressive in bed, has a history of substance abuse, and is dishonest about her past. While Lila suffers a severe sunburn and stays in their room, Eddie meets Miranda, a vacationer from Mississippi. A series of misunderstandings leads the family to believe Eddie is mourning a dead wife. After a disastrous lunch where Eddie tries to propose a divorce, Lila and Miranda both abandon him, and Lila strands him in Mexico by destroying his passport. Depressed, Eddie eventually travels to Mississippi to find Miranda, only to discover she has married someone else. He leaves her, but eighteen months later, he finds her in Mexico. She has left her husband and is still in love with him, but she is unaware that Eddie has already remarried a woman named Consuela.
