In 50 BC, Princess Nawa uses enchanted earrings to swap bodies with a slave girl. In modern-day California, mean-spirited cheerleader Jessica Spencer steals these earrings from an African-themed store. After a small-time criminal, Clive Maxtone, picks up one of the earrings she dropped, both characters put on their respective earrings and wake up in each other's bodies. Jessica must navigate life in Clive's body, including a cheering competition and a prom, while Clive uses Jessica's body to make money. With the help of her friends, Jessica learns the earrings' magic and the urgency of the next full moon. She eventually finds Clive at a strip club, steals his earring, and puts both on, restoring their original bodies. The film ends with Clive being arrested and then captured by a suspicious man in a car.
