Katniss Everdeen leads a team of rebels into the heart of the Capitol to liberate Panem from the tyrannical leadership of Coriolanus Snow.
The story
After being attacked by a brainwashed Peeta Mellark, Katniss Everdeen recovers from her injuries in District 13. President of District 13, Alma Coin, refuses to let Katniss go to the Capitol until they secure District 2, the last district under Capitol control. Katniss is sent to join the assault on the Capitol's armory in District 2, hoping to rally the rebels in that district to join their cause. During her speech, Katniss is shot but survives because the costume made by Cinna is bulletproof. Despite the sudden attack, the Capitol’s tyrannical President Coriolanus Snow deduces that she is still alive due to the rebels not branding her a martyr.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Following the assault on District 2, Katniss joins the Star Squad to reach the Capitol. They navigate deadly 'pods' and face a mutiny from a compromised Peeta. After a series of skirmishes and a desperate journey through the sewers, Katniss and Gale infiltrate the Capitol. Amidst a chaotic battle involving bombs and betrayal, Katniss confronts President Snow. She discovers that President Coin orchestrated a deadly attack to turn the populace against Snow. In a final act of defiance, Katniss executes Coin before Snow is lynched by the mob. The film concludes with Katniss and Peeta reunited in a peaceful District 12, eventually marrying and raising children while the revolution's aftermath settles.
