Two opossum brothers must team up with a wild weasel to stop a brainy dinosaur from conquering a hidden land.
The story
After accidentally destroying their summer habitat and causing an avalanche, the opossum brothers Crash and Eddie are declared unfit to survive on their own. Seeking to prove their independence, they secretly leave their camp and stumble into the Lost World, a land inhabited by dinosaurs. There, they encounter their old friend Buck Wild, who warns them of a bipedal Protoceratops named Orson. Orson, who was once ridiculed for his massive brain, has escaped exile and intends to conquer the Lost World. Buck attempts to help the brothers return home, but discovers that Orson has already blocked the entrance with a boulder.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After destroying their habitat, Crash and Eddie flee into the Lost World, where they meet Buck Wild. Buck explains that Orson, a bipedal Protoceratops who believes in a world where the strong dominate the weak, was previously banished to an island for his beliefs. Orson has returned with an army of raptors that he controls using fire. Buck and his former teammate Zee join the possums to seek help from Momma, a female Tyrannosaurus. After a series of skirmishes, Buck is captured by Orson to serve as an example to others. The rest of the gang—Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie—eventually find the entrance to the Lost World and join the fray. In a final battle, Crash and Eddie use fire-breathing lizards to disrupt the raptors, causing them to chase Orson away. The gang is reunited, and while the opossum brothers choose to stay in the Lost World with Buck and Zee, they promise to visit their old friends often.
