Full plot (contains spoilers)

During the glory days of superheroes, Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is forced into hiding by a government mandate. Fifteen years later, he lives a mundane life in Metroville with his wife Helen (Elastigirl) and three children. After being fired from his job, Bob accepts a mission from a woman named Mirage to destroy a giant 'Omnidroid' robot on the island of Nomanisan. He discovers that Mirage is working for Buddy Pine, now known as Syndrome, a former fan who became a villain after being rejected by Bob. Syndrome uses the Omnidroid to eliminate other supers and plans to use it to attack Metroville. Helen discovers Bob's secret mission and, along with their children, travels to the island to find him. The family eventually reunites and fights the Omnidroid together. After the battle, they return home to find Syndrome attempting to kidnap their baby, Jack-Jack, for revenge. Jack-Jack's powers manifest, allowing the family to defeat Syndrome. The film ends with the Parrs preparing to face a new threat from the supervillain the Underminer.
