A cinematic exploration of the internal spiritual conflicts and temptations faced by Jesus Christ.

The story

The film depicts the life of Jesus Christ as he navigates the complexities of his role as a spiritual leader in the Roman-occupied land of Judea. As a carpenter, Jesus is torn between his personal desires and the divine plan for his life. He faces internal and external struggles, including the temptation of fear, doubt, and the pressure of his followers' expectations. The narrative explores his journey from his early ministry and the gathering of disciples to his ultimate sacrifice, all while grappling with the profound spiritual conflict of his identity and the weight of his impending destiny.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Jesus of Nazareth, a carpenter in Judea, is torn between his personal desires and God's plan. His friend Judas Iscariot, who suspects Jesus is the Messiah, seeks to lead a war of liberation, while Jesus preaches a message of love. After being baptized by John the Baptist and enduring trials in the desert, Jesus performs miracles and is nursed by the sisters of Bethany. His ministry leads him to Jerusalem, where he is eventually betrayed by Judas and arrested. Before Pontius Pilate, he is condemned to death. On the cross, a girl—revealed to be a trick by Satan—leads him into a vision where he marries Mary Magdalene and lives a life of domestic bliss. In his old age, he encounters the apostle Paul and eventually realizes the 'angel' was a deception. He returns to the site of his crucifixion, accepts his role as the Messiah, and dies on the cross, having overcome the 'last temptation' of escaping his destiny.
