To claim her inheritance, a woman must complete a list of life goals created by her late mother.

The story

After her mother, Elizabeth, passes away from cancer, Alex discovers that her inheritance is tied to a 'life list' of goals her mother compiled when she was a teenager. To unlock the inheritance, Alex must complete these tasks, which are revealed through a series of videos left by her mother. Guided by a young lawyer named Brad, who verifies her progress, Alex must step out of her comfort zone and confront her past. While navigating these challenges, she also faces a 'true love test' provided by a friend, complicating her romantic life as she tries to determine who truly fits into her future while fulfilling her mother's final wishes.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Following the death of her mother, Elizabeth, Alex learns she must complete a list of goals from her childhood to receive her inheritance. These tasks are revealed via videos, with lawyer Brad overseeing the process. The list forces Alex into various situations, including performing at a comedy club, teaching at a shelter, and learning a piano piece. Along the way, she navigates complex relationships with her friend Garrett and her estranged father, Sam. She also discovers her birth father is a musician named Johnny. After a series of complications involving her feelings for Brad and the realization of her true circumstances, Alex eventually reconciles with her family. In the end, she receives her inheritance despite not completing every item on the list, and finds clarity in her search for true love as she prepares for the New Year.
