A team of scientists and a group of corporate-backed hunters collide on a remote island where prehistoric dinosaurs roam free.

The story

Four years after the events on Isla Nublar, a British family's arrival on Isla Sorna leads to a dangerous encounter with genetically engineered dinosaurs. This incident prompts Peter Ludlow to seize control of InGen from John Hammond. To counter Ludlow's plans to exploit the island's dinosaurs for a new theme park in San Diego, Hammond recruits the eccentric Ian Malcolm to lead a team to the island. Their mission is to document the creatures and advocate for a non-interference policy. However, the presence of a second group—a mercenary team hired by Ludlow to capture the dinosaurs—creates a tense and dangerous conflict as both groups navigate the treacherous terrain of the abandoned facility.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After a family's daughter is attacked by Compsognathus on Isla Sorna, Peter Ludlow seizes control of InGen and plans to capture dinosaurs for a theme park in San Diego. John Hammond sends Ian Malcolm and a team to the island to document the animals and promote non-interference. They encounter a mercenary team led by Ludlow and hunters Roland Tembo and Ajay Sidhu. The two groups eventually find themselves forced to work together after their communication equipment is destroyed by a pack of Velociraptors. During the chaos, a baby Tyrannosaurus rex is rescued by Nick Van Owen, but its parents eventually track the scent and attack the camp. The conflict culminates in a desperate struggle to contain the dinosaurs. After a massive T. rex escapes a transport ship and rampages through the streets of San Diego, Ian and Sarah manage to lure it back into a cargo hold. The film ends with the dinosaurs being returned to Isla Sorna, which is declared a nature reserve.
