A CIA agent and a KGB operative must team up to stop a group of Nazi sympathizers from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

The story

In 1963, CIA Agent Napoleon Solo extracts Gaby Teller, the daughter of a nuclear scientist, from East Berlin. Because of a complex intelligence landscape, Solo is forced to team up with KGB Agent Illya Kuryakin. The two men, who are technically on opposite sides, must work together to stop the Nazi sympathizers Alexander and Victoria Vinciguerra from using Dr. Udo Teller's research to build a private nuclear weapon. The mission takes them to Rome, where they must navigate a web of deception and danger to prevent the weapon from falling into the wrong hands.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In 1963, CIA Agent Napoleon Solo extracts Gaby Teller from East Berlin. He is forced to team up with KGB Agent Illya Kuryakin to stop the Nazi sympathizers Alexander and Victoria Vinciguerra from using Dr. Udo Teller's research to build a private nuclear weapon. The pair travels to Rome, where Kuryakin poses as Gaby's fiancé to infiltrate the Vinciguerra's circle. After a series of dangerous encounters, they discover the weapon is hidden in an island fortress. Following a betrayal by Gaby's contact, the men infiltrate the compound. They eventually discover that the warhead they were pursuing was a decoy; the real one is held by Victoria. After a final confrontation where the weapon is destroyed, Solo and Kuryakin realize they both had orders to kill the other, but chose to destroy the research instead to prevent an arms race. They are then recruited into a new organization called U.N.C.L.E.
