A pop star navigates the grueling, often absurd demands of a massive album cycle and a compromised tour production.

The story

In September 2024, at the peak of her fame following the 'Brat' phenomenon, British pop artist Charli XCX prepares for her arena tour debut. While she and her team find the forced promotion of various brand deals, including a controversial credit card, to be 'cringe', her label insists on continuing the cycle. Tensions rise when a pretentious filmmaker, Johannes, is hired to direct a concert film for the tour. He begins to seize creative control, clashing with Charli's creative director, Celeste. Amidst the mounting pressure of rehearsals and conflicting visions, Charli finds herself caught between her artistic integrity and the demands of the industry.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

In September 2024, pop star Charli XCX is forced by her label to promote a series of 'cringe' brand deals, including a credit card with a failing bank. Simultaneously, she faces a creative battle with Johannes, a pretentious filmmaker hired to produce a concert film who seeks to sanitize her tour's vision. After a brief, impulsive vacation to Ibiza where she encounters a harsh truth from a facialist and a 'go harder' pep talk from Kylie Jenner, Charli impulsively promotes the credit card deal to fund Johannes's expensive, high-concept vision. This leads to a public relations disaster when the promotion is revealed to be fraudulent, resulting in a social media backlash and the bankruptcy of the partner bank. Following a period of disappearance, Charli returns to the studio. She records a message to her fired assistant, Celeste, admitting she is exhausted by the 'Brat' phenomenon. She decides to perform the mutated tour anyway, accepting its poor quality as a way to finally end the album cycle. The film concludes with a trailer for the compromised concert film.
