Full plot (contains spoilers)

Charlie Brown, a socially awkward boy, seeks to impress the 'Little Red-Haired Girl' by changing his behavior. After a mishap with a model Red Baron triplane causes havoc, he enters a talent show but sacrifices his act to help his sister Sally, leading to public humiliation. He later practices for a school dance but accidentally sets off a sprinkler. When partnered with the Little Red-Haired Girl for a book report, he writes a comprehensive report on 'War and Peace' and briefly gains popularity for a perfect test score, only to lose it when he discovers his papers were mixed up with Peppermint Patty's. His book report is then shredded by the model plane. Meanwhile, Snoopy writes a novel about his Flying Ace persona saving his girlfriend Fifi from the Red Baron, using Charlie Brown's life as inspiration. On the last day of school, the Little Red-Haired Girl chooses Charlie Brown as a pen pal. Before she leaves for summer camp, she tells him she admires his compassion, honesty, and bravery, leading his friends to finally accept him as a true friend.
