The story
In 1926 New Orleans, a hardworking waitress named Tiana dreams of opening her own restaurant. When she meets Prince Naveen, who has been transformed into a frog by the villainous voodoo witch doctor Dr. Facilier, she agrees to kiss him to break the spell. However, the kiss turns her into a frog as well. The two must navigate the bayou and seek the help of a voodoo priestess to find a way to become human again before it is too late, all while evading the schemes of the shadow-dealing Facilier.

In 1926 New Orleans, Tiana works multiple jobs to fund her dream of owning a restaurant. She meets Prince Naveen, who is turned into a frog by the voodoo witch doctor Dr. Facilier. Tiana kisses him to break the spell but becomes a frog herself. They flee to the bayou with a jazz-loving alligator named Louis and a firefly named Ray. They seek help from Mama Odie, a voodoo priestess. While they journey, they learn about each other's values. Meanwhile, Facilier uses a talisman to control his 'Friends on the Other Side' to reclaim Naveen. Tiana and Naveen eventually realize their mutual feelings. In a final confrontation, Tiana destroys Facilier's talisman, leading to his downfall. Tiana and Naveen are restored to human form by Mama Odie and marry, eventually opening Tiana's Palace.
