Two American backpackers find themselves trapped in a hostile, alcohol-fueled culture while working at a remote outback pub.
The story
Two young American backpackers, Hanna and Liv, travel to a remote Australian outback mining town to work as bartenders at the Royal Hotel after running out of money in Sydney. Upon arrival, they meet the pub's owner, Billy, and his wife Carol. While working, Hanna becomes increasingly disturbed by the casual sexism, misogynistic jokes, and inappropriate behavior displayed by the predominantly male patrons. While Liv initially brushes these behaviors off as cultural differences, Hanna begins to feel unsafe as they navigate the pub's toxic atmosphere and the unstable relationship between the owners.
