The story
Miranda Wells is a hard-working young widow struggling to raise her three children while managing her boyfriend's seafood restaurant in New Orleans. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Bray Johnson, an engineering professor from Vanderbilt University. Bray is searching for her to deliver an important envelope. After a series of chance encounters, including a car accident and a hurricane that damages their home, the two are forced to interact. As Miranda navigates the challenges of her daily life and the complexities of her current relationship, Bray attempts to demonstrate the power of positive thinking to her.

Miranda Wells is a struggling widow in New Orleans managing a seafood restaurant and raising three children. She meets Bray Johnson, a professor who is trying to deliver a patent to her. After a car accident and a hurricane, they spend time together. Miranda eventually learns that Bray and her late husband worked together on an invention. She discovers that the patent's value could solve her financial problems. Realizing she does not love her current boyfriend, Tucker, she calls off their engagement and leaves her job. She eventually reconciles with Bray and moves her family to Tennessee to live with him.
