The story
Following a harrowing survival, Maya finds herself trapped in the small town of Venus, Oregon. After a series of violent encounters involving a group of masked figures known as the Strangers, she is hunted by the local figures who have been complicit in the violence. As Maya attempts to escape the town and find safety, she becomes the target of a calculated pursuit. The narrative weaves between her desperate struggle for survival and the dark history of the local law enforcement and the perpetrators who operate within the shadows of the community.

In 2021, Claire is murdered by three masked individuals—Pin-Up Girl, Dollface, and Scarecrow—in the town of Venus, Oregon. In the present, Maya, a survivor of a previous attack by these same figures, seeks refuge in a local church. She is eventually captured by Gregory (Scarecrow) and Jasmine (Dollface). Flashbacks reveal that Gregory is the son of Sheriff Rotter, who covered up Gregory's crimes. The pair takes Maya to a sawmill to process Shelly's (Pin-Up Girl) body and holds her in an underground hideout, where they brand her with a smiley face. Meanwhile, Maya's sister Debbie and her husband Howard arrive in town to find her, and they become suspicious of Sheriff Rotter's involvement. During a hunt for new victims, Maya is forced to participate in an attack on a couple at a motel. She eventually kills Jasmine and is forced to kill a woman by Gregory. Later, Debbie and Howard are hunted by the Sheriff and Gregory; the Sheriff kills their bodyguard, and Gregory kills both Debbie and Howard. Maya eventually escapes and returns to the hideout. She confronts and kills Sheriff Rotter, then confronts Gregory in his shrine. After a moment of shared connection, she tricks him into lowering his guard and kills him with a knife and his own axe, taking his mask as she escapes.
