The story
Several months after the events of the previous film, human Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen are getting married. During the reception, werewolf Jacob Black returns, much to Bella's delight. They share a dance in the woods, where Bella reveals her plans for their honeymoon. Following the wedding, the couple travels to an island off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Shortly after, Bella realizes she is pregnant with a half-vampire child. This discovery causes significant distress for Edward and creates a dangerous situation, as the pregnancy is progressing at an alarming rate and the child's existence poses a threat to those around them.

Following their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to a remote island where Bella becomes pregnant with a half-human, half-vampire child. The pregnancy progresses at an accelerated rate, and Bella begins consuming human blood to maintain her strength. Edward is initially distressed by the danger the child poses, but his feelings change when he can read the baby's thoughts. During a difficult and painful birth, Bella falls unconscious. Edward injects her with his venom to save her life, and she eventually awakens as a vampire. Meanwhile, Jacob Black and his werewolf pack consider the threat posed by the child. Jacob eventually 'imprints' on the newborn, Renesmee, which prevents his pack from harming her. The film concludes with Bella's transformation and a post-credits scene involving the Volturi, the keepers of vampire law, who are alerted to the new additions to the Cullen coven.
