A newly turned vampire must protect her child from a powerful and dangerous vampire leadership.

The story

Following her transformation into a vampire, Bella Cullen must navigate her new existence alongside the Cullen family. As she adjusts to her immortality and cares for her daughter, Renesmee, the group faces a looming threat. A misunderstanding by a rogue vampire leads the powerful Volturi to believe Renesmee is an 'immortal child,' a condition that carries a death sentence. The Cullens and their werewolf allies must gather witnesses and prepare for a potential confrontation to prove the girl's innocence and protect their family from the Volturi's swift and severe judgment.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

The film begins with Bella awakening from her transformation and being introduced to her daughter, Renesmee, by her husband Edward. The Cullens and their werewolf friend Jacob stay nearby, while Jacob's 'imprinting' on Renesmee is revealed. Meanwhile, Bella's father, Charlie, is told by Jacob that Bella is alive but changed. Carlisle, the Cullen patriarch, decides the family must leave Forks to protect their identities. The plot intensifies when the vampire Irina mistakenly reports Renesmee as an 'immortal child' to the Volturi. To counter this, Alice provides a vision of a potential battle, and the Cullens gather allies to testify to Renesmee's safety. When the Volturi arrive, they execute Irina to provoke a fight. However, Alice reveals a final witness—a half-human, half-vampire man—who proves Renesmee is not a threat, causing the Volturi to leave. The film concludes with a vision of a peaceful future and a romantic moment between Edward and Bella in a meadow.
