Two orphans must navigate the chaos of a town plagued by a spiteful couple and their malfunctioning amusement park.

The story

Set in the 2000s, the story is framed by a firefly named Pippa telling a tale to her son. It centers on Mr. and Mrs. Twit, a spiteful couple whose only joy is their amusement park, Twitlandia. After the park is shut down for violations, the Twits cause a massive flood in the town of Triperot. Amidst the chaos, two orphans, Beesha and Bubsy, find themselves in the path of the Twits' schemes. When the children visit Twitlandia, they encounter the Twits and a group of captive, monkey-like creatures called Muggle-Wumps, leading to a conflict over the fate of the park and the safety of the children.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

After the Twits cause a flood in Triperot, orphans Beesha and Bubsy find their lives disrupted. Beesha and Bubsy visit Twitlandia and encounter the Muggle-Wumps, who are being tortured by the Twits. Beesha records the Twits' confession, leading to their arrest, but they are later bailed out to 'help' the town. The children eventually free the Muggle-Wumps and engage in a series of pranks and political maneuvers, including a rigged mayoral election involving a 'Triperot Cake' that causes the opponent's buttocks to explode. The Twits eventually try to seize the orphanage, leading to a battle involving 'florbnorbles' and cheese spray. In a final confrontation, the Twits are tricked into a situation where they believe they are on a ceiling, only to be stuck to the floor with glue. They eventually apologize and blow up their park. In the end, the town's reputation is restored, the Muggle-Wumps' tears are industrialized, and the Twits are ultimately swallowed by a giant Sweet-Toed Toad in Loompaland.
