The story
After the death of his billionaire grandfather, Howard 'Red' Stevens, his grandson Jason, a self-centered and unemployed man, is left with a mysterious inheritance. To claim it, he must complete twelve distinct tasks, each representing a different 'gift' such as work, money, and friendship. Initially skeptical and resentful toward his grandfather, Jason is pushed by his girlfriend to take the challenge seriously. As he navigates these requirements, he must confront his own lifestyle and the true meaning of the gifts his grandfather intended to pass down before he can access the ultimate inheritance.

Following the death of billionaire Howard 'Red' Stevens, his grandson Jason is tasked with completing twelve requirements to claim his inheritance. After his first task on a ranch, Jason loses his possessions and finds himself destitute, eventually befriending a struggling mother and daughter. During his journey, he travels to Ecuador, where he discovers the truth about his father's death—a lie told by his grandfather. After being held hostage by militants and escaping, he returns to America to find the young girl he befriended, Emily, is dying of leukemia. After completing all tasks, Jason receives $100 million and his property back. He turns down his ex-girlfriend and establishes a hospital for children. He eventually receives a second, much larger gift of $2 billion for his charitable actions. The film ends with him and his new love, Alexia, reflecting on the support they received.
