Two siblings traveling to visit their estranged grandparents discover that their hosts are not who they claim to be.

The story

Two siblings from Philadelphia, Becca and Tyler, travel to an isolated farmhouse to spend five days with their estranged grandparents while their mother is away on a cruise. Having never met their grandparents before, the teens decide to document the visit using a camcorder. Upon arrival, they are met with strange instructions from 'Nana' and 'Pop Pop' regarding their behavior and movements. As the stay progresses, the grandparents' actions become increasingly bizarre and unsettling. The siblings' documentary-style filming evolves into a desperate attempt to uncover the truth behind the strange circumstances at the farmstead.

Full plot (contains spoilers)

Becca and Tyler, siblings from Philadelphia, visit their estranged grandparents, Nana and Pop Pop, at an isolated farmhouse. Their mother, Loretta, has not spoken to her parents in fifteen years and sends the children alone. The teens record the trip on a camcorder. The grandparents initially seem pleasant but soon exhibit erratic behavior, such as Nana's physical outbursts and Pop Pop's aggression. When the children call their mother, she reveals that the people they are with are not their grandparents. The teens find the body of a woman named Stacy. They eventually discover the truth in the basement: the 'grandparents' are actually escaped psychiatric patients who murdered the real grandparents and stole their identities. After a violent confrontation where the teens are hunted, Becca stabs Nana and Tyler kills Pop Pop with a refrigerator door. They are rescued by their mother and police. The film ends with the siblings back home, reflecting on their experience and their family history.
