A docudrama follows the harrowing real-time response of Palestinian Red Crescent workers attempting to rescue a young girl trapped under fire in Gaza.
The story
Omar, a new volunteer for the Palestinian Red Crescent, receives an emergency call from a young girl, Hind Rajab, who is trapped in a car near the Fares Gas Station in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of northern Gaza. The area had been ordered to be evacuated by the Israeli occupation army. As Omar and his colleague Rana attempt to coordinate a rescue with their manager, Mahdi, they face the logistical and physical dangers of the conflict. They must navigate jammed phone lines and the strict protocols required to secure a 'green light' for an ambulance to reach the girl while she remains trapped under fire.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Omar, a new volunteer for the Palestinian Red Crescent, receives an emergency call from a girl, Hind Rajab, trapped in a car in northern Gaza. While Omar and his colleague Rana attempt to keep Hind engaged and calm, they struggle with the logistical hurdles of the war, including jammed communications and the need for a 'green light' from authorities. Despite the tension between Omar and the rule-bound Mahdi, they eventually get the green light. As the ambulance moves, it faces physical obstacles and the constant threat of fire. The film depicts the agonizing wait and the eventual loss of contact with Hind. The narrative concludes by showing real-life footage of the destroyed ambulance and the car, followed by archival footage of Hind before the war began.
