An artist becomes trapped in a remote forest where she must survive alongside strangers and mysterious creatures that stalk them at night.
The story
Mina, a 28-year-old artist, becomes lost in a vast, untouched forest in the west of Ireland while delivering a parrot. Seeking shelter, she finds a bunker known as the 'Coop' where she meets three other people who have been stranded for months. They are warned by a woman named Madeline that they must follow strict rules to survive the 'Watchers'—mysterious creatures that emerge at night. The group must navigate the dangers of the forest and the mysterious underground tunnels known as Burrows while trying to understand the nature of the creatures stalking them.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
After her car breaks down, Mina finds a bunker (the Coop) with Madeline, Ciara, and Daniel. They are warned that 'Watchers'—shapeshifting fairies—stalk the area at night and must not be provoked. While exploring a 'Burrow' (underground tunnel), Mina finds items and narrowly escapes a Watcher. Tension rises as the group becomes hostile toward one another. After a confrontation where they are forced into the forest, they discover a hidden study containing the diaries of Professor Rory Kilmartin, who studied the fairies and eventually died. They learn the Watchers were once imprisoned and are now trying to mimic humans. After a Watcher kills Daniel, the survivors flee to a nearby river. Mina later discovers that Madeline is actually a hybrid of human and fairy. In a final confrontation, Madeline reveals her true form and flies away, while Mina reconciles with her twin sister, Lucy, realizing Madeline is still watching her.
