An aspiring artist's quest for art school funding leads her to a reality dating show that isn't in the city she expected.

The story

Dawn, an aspiring artist living in a small Texas town, is in desperate need of funds to attend art school in Paris, France. To secure the money, she agrees to participate in a reality dating show called The Honeypot, believing the filming will take place in the French capital. However, upon arriving at the location, she discovers the show is actually set on a ranch in Paris, Texas. Despite her desire to be eliminated and return home, Dawn finds herself complicated by the presence of the show's bachelor, Trey, and the realization that she may have to compete to secure her future.

Dawn is an aspiring artist whose grandmother, Birdie, is her legal guardian. To fund her dream of attending art school in Paris, France, Dawn joins the reality show 'The Honeypot.' She is shocked to find the show is filmed in Paris, Texas, but remains because her contract forbids her from leaving without pay. She meets the bachelor, Trey McAllen III, and discovers he is the cowboy she met previously. While trying to get eliminated, she finds herself falling for him. She eventually begins competing for extra money by going on dates with Trey, even and eventually sneaking away from cameras to spend time together. However, her rival Lexi reveals Dawn's true intentions to Trey, leading him to eliminate her from the competition. After moving to France for school, Dawn is urged by producer Rachel to reach out to Trey. She travels to the final location and confesses her feelings. Trey, moved by her sincerity and the fact that she gave up her winnings to see him, reconciles with her. They decide she should publicly reject him on camera to secure the $250,000 prize, and they end the film together while she continues her studies in France.
