Full plot (contains spoilers)

Themroc is a construction worker who lives in an apartment building with his mother and sister. Every morning, he has to get up to clock in and work as a house painter. One day, while repainting a window, he catches his boss flirting with his secretary. As he is being taken to the boss’s office, he rebels and runs away. He goes home, walls up the door to his apartment, and knocks down the exterior wall. From this makeshift cave, he lets out wild howls and taunts the police as they try to force him out. The rebellion soon spreads throughout the building. Later, Themroc has incestuous relations with his sister, before seducing a young neighbor. He leaves his lair only at night, using a rope ladder to go hunting: among other things, he kills a police officer and devours him. To rebuild the exterior wall, the authorities call in a mason, but he soon joins Themroc’s cause.
